Setting of highway guide signs

1. Highway entrance signs

Entrance guide signs are set at major intersections and road sections from town or urban trunk roads to highway entrance connection lines or road network systems within the range of 2~10km from the periphery of the highway entrance, so as to guide vehicles to reach the highway entrance smoothly;

Boundary signs should be set up on the provincial and municipal administrative boundaries of the expressway;

The distance confirmation sign should be set on the straight section of expressway main line.

4. Expressway service information signs

Expressway service information signs mainly include collection station signs, weighing station guidance signs, emergency telephone signs, service area warning signs, emergency parking signs, climbing lane signs, road traffic information signs, etc.

Toll station warning signs should be set at 2km, 1km and 500m from the main expressway, and toll station signs should be set at the appropriate position of the toll plaza or at the front end of its toll island;

Weighing station guide signs and service area warning signs should be set up at 2km, 1km, 500m in front of expressway weighing station and service area, and at the starting point of deceleration lane respectively;

About 200m in front of the parking zone, an emergency parking zone sign should be set up;

Climbing lane signs and road traffic information signs should be set respectively on the road sections with climbing lanes and roadside communication to provide traffic information.

Setting of general road guide signs

1. Path guide signs

In order to prevent the traffic from being chaotic in front of the guide lane of the adjacent intersection, it is necessary to set the intersection warning sign in advance to predict the shape and direction of the intersection ahead, usually 300~500m in front of the intersection.

Before the intersection, the intersection route guide sign should be set according to the number of lanes, traffic conditions and sight distance near the intersection, generally 30~50m in front of the intersection.

2. Geographical name guiding signs

Administrative boundary signs should generally be set on the actual dividing line, highway jurisdiction boundary signs should be set on the dividing lines of various jurisdictions along the highway, and famous location guidance signs should be set at famous locations;

In the vicinity of villages, towns (townships) and counties along the highway and famous mountains and rivers, signs of places and names of mountains and rivers should be set up.

3. Guide signs for facilities along the highway

Parking lots that are open to the public along the highway and surrounding areas and parking lots that are being managed should be equipped with parking lot signs and auxiliary signs near the entrance to the parking lot to indicate the direction and distance;

The wrong lane sign should be set on the roadside near the wrong lane of the highway, or it can be set 150~200m before the wrong lane.
